About the Author
Dr. Detlev Hochmuth's research and business focuses on bioinformatics, chemoinformatics and instrumental analysis,
particularly on mass spectrometry, gas chromatography and nmr spectroscopy. He headed the department for
computational structure elucidation of the drug discovery division of a biotechnology company before
founding his own company in 2003 and starting full-time in the development of customised scientific
software for analytical applications. In 2004 he won the German small business program award.
He obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry under the guidance of Professor Wilfried A. König, University of Hamburg, Germany, and was post-doctoral Marie-Curie fellow in the group of Professor Anthony G.M. Barrett, FRS, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK.
